The Mauresque
How to make The Mauresque with Tibra anisette liqueur — ingredients and method.
Ingredients
- 1½ ounces TIBRA (use your Tibra Black Licorice out of the freezer)
- ¾ ounce orgeat syrup (almond syrup)
- Cold water to top
- Ice cubes
- Star anise pod (optional garnish)
Method
Pour the TIBRA Black Licorice and orgeat syrup into a highball or Collins glass. Gently stir to combine the two ingredients. Add ice cubes to the glass. Slowly pour cold water to fill the glass—this creates the characteristic milky cloudiness called “louche”. Stir gently and serve immediately.
