A tribute to Maimonides (the Rambam)
Tibra is a tribute to Maimonides — Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, the Rambam — the great Sephardic scholar and physician who is laid to rest in Tiberias.
The Rambam
Born in Córdoba in the 12th century, the Rambam was a rabbi, philosopher and physician whose writing still shapes Jewish thought. He is buried in Tiberias, by the Sea of Galilee, alongside great sages.
Anise, fig and licorice
Anise, fig and licorice all appear in the Rambam's writing and in the sayings of the sages — the three ingredients that give each Tibra bottle its character.
A family recipe
Tibra's secret family recipe has been passed down through generations and is rooted in the traditions of Greece and Lebanon. We ferment our liqueur so the sugar and organic fruit blend gently — and we make it in a limited run of 3500 numbered bottles.
